What is StoneBlood?
A better question than "what is shilajit?"
StoneBlood is a high-mineral, fulvic-acid tonic — a mineral pitch drawn from paramagnetic ore in high alpine environments, where centuries of pressure, moisture, and stillness slowly ferment stone and ore into a mineral-rich resin. We think of it as the Jing of the mountain: the concentrated essence of the earth itself.
It aligns with everything the traditional texts describe as shilajit, moomijo, salajeet, or mineral pitch — the substance revered across the ancient world. But StoneBlood carries one defining difference: it is found here, on this continent. It is wildcrafted on American soil, in the Rocky Mountains.
Distinct from "shilajit"
There is a great deal of mystery, legend, and honestly a lot of noise around the word "shilajit" — a multitude of substances sold under one name, much of it imported, diluted, counterfeited, or synthesized just to pass a purity test. We call ours StoneBlood on purpose. It shares the heritage of the tradition, but that heritage here is carried outside Himalayan and Ayurvedic influence, from materials harvested within the United States and processed our own way. The purity, the paramagnetism, and the general vitality we see in it are, to our knowledge, higher than the "shilajit" products we have come across.
The real thing
StoneBlood is a deep-brown, sticky mineral resin — like all the rest — and it is remarkably good at being exactly what the old texts describe, without the fantastical or the derogatory baggage the word "shilajit" has picked up along the way. It is a food rich in the minerals the human body draws on for everyday function — a meaningful thing for a people fed by soils long stripped of their fertility.
Ethically stewarded
We go to great lengths to steward how much StoneBlood is taken each year. We watch the weather and the ecological patterns, we watch the new faces of rock that will someday decompose into more of it, and we process and distribute only a limited supply — enough to keep the land healthy and to leave some for other ethical wildharvesters and their families. It is sourced in America and only ever handled by one person before it is bottled and sent to you.
